A time of 20 minutes and 58 seconds stood as the course record for the "Climb to the Clouds" auto race up the Mt. Washington Auto Road from 1905 until 1923 when Ralph Mulford, a renowned driver of his day, set a new record of 17 minutes 49.6 seconds.
